“With impressive mastery of the keyboard and with utmost authority, Andrew Zhou ushers us into a generously lyrical “Fantaisie” whose sonic range and expressive power are astounding under his steely fingers. The textures are more transparent and the colors almost Fauréan in the “Nocturne.” The pianist here emphasized the elegance and fluidity of the lines without neglecting the polyphonic richness with which this extremely demanding music is adorned.
